A combined team of  the  Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority ( ZAMRA ) and the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC )  over the weekend shut down 5 illegal drug stores in Lusaka’s Kamanga, Chainda and Obama compounds and arrested two people for selling medicines without certificates of registration contrary to the Medicines and Allied Substances Act No. 3 of 2013 of the laws of Zambia.

 Those arrested were 28 years old Andrew Sitwebeza  of Kamanga compound  who was operating a drug store known as God is Great General  dealers  and  Rabecca Nyamba 24 also of the same area and was  found operating a  drug store known as Chuma drug stores. The Dual were reminded in police custody and will appear in court soon

We wish to make an appeal to the general public to desist from selling medicines if they do not have the authority and qualified personnel to do so. Those found wanting will be prosecuted according to the provisions of the Law.
